Waterloo Region DUG Meeting: Simplifying Drupal Development with Subversion
Yesterday I gave a presentation to the Waterloo Region Drupal User Group about the basics of using Subversion to manage a Drupal website. Most of the presentation applies to any use of Subversion, though I do touch on a few specifics relating to Drupal. If you're interested in learning about using version control to manage any website or project, this is a great place to start. There are some slides which I didn't present about using Subversion to actually deploy updates to Drupal, contributed modules, or any other set of third-party code. If you manage multiple Drupal sites, it's worth a read as it can greatly speed up deploying module update.
As requested, I've exported the slides with my presenter notes which had reminders for myself for the live demonstration I did. There should be enough to get started, though feel free to post any questions in the comments. If you're trying the commands yourself, be sure to use your own SVN repository URL.
